Who This Is For
Virtual physical therapy is for Kansas residents who are outside of my driving area, who travel often, or who simply prefer to meet by video. It is a small part of my practice, but for the right person it works very well.
At this time I can only provide virtual physical therapy to people located in Kansas.
What Works Well by Video
More than most people expect. An evaluation by video includes a detailed conversation about what is going on, a movement screen where I watch you move through specific tests, and education about what I think is happening and why. From there I build you a home exercise program and send it as a clear PDF with pictures and instructions.
Virtual care is a strong fit for:
- Pain or stiffness that needs a plan and coaching, not hands-on treatment
- Getting a home exercise program set up correctly and progressed over time
- Questions about whether something needs in-person care or a physician visit
- Follow-ups for people I have already seen in person
What Does Not Work by Video
Anything that needs my hands. Manual therapy and dry needling require an in-person visit. If your evaluation suggests that hands-on care is what you need most, I will tell you, and we will talk about whether an in-person visit or a referral to a clinic closer to you makes more sense.
What a Virtual Visit Looks Like
You need a phone, tablet, or laptop with a camera, a stable internet connection, and enough room to move so I can see you head to toe. Wear clothes you can move in.
The first visit is the evaluation. We talk, I watch you move, I explain what I think is going on, and we start your program together so you know exactly how each exercise should feel. After the visit you receive your program as a PDF.
Follow-up visits are typically shorter, 30 to 45 minutes. We review how the program is going, I adjust and progress the exercises, and we handle any new questions.
Pricing
- Initial virtual evaluation: $210
- Virtual follow-ups: $120, 30 to 45 minutes
Payment is at the time of the visit by Venmo or check. HSA and FSA cards are welcome. Superbills are available if you want to submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
No Referral Needed
Kansas does not require a physician referral for physical therapy, including telehealth. You can book directly.
