In-home physical therapy

Mobile Physical Therapy

I bring physical therapy to you. A full hour, one on one, in the place you are most comfortable. No waiting room, no clinic, no rush.

What Mobile Physical Therapy Means

It means I come to you. Your home, your office, your gym, or a quiet public space that works for you. I bring the table, the tools, and everything else a visit needs. You clear a little floor space and that is it.

Every visit is a full sixty minutes, and every minute is with me. I am not moving between rooms or checking on another patient. You get one physical therapist, one plan, and one person who knows your whole story from the first visit on.

I am Dr. Travis Nichols, a Doctor of Physical Therapy with more than eighteen years of orthopedic experience and a certification in Functional Dry Needling. I started Nichols PT & Wellness because I believe the best care happens when there is enough time to listen to my patient’s full story, complete a thorough exam, and treat the actual problem.

What I Treat

Most of the people I see fall into one of three groups. Someone with pain that has been building for a while. Someone with a recent injury who wants to get back to the activities they love. Or someone who had surgery and wants a smooth, well-guided recovery.

Common reasons people call:

  • Neck, back, and shoulder pain
  • Hip, knee, ankle, and foot pain
  • Muscle weakness, tightness, or painful trigger points
  • Arthritis and joint pain
  • Balance and mobility concerns
  • Getting ready for surgery and/or recovering after one
  • Sports injuries, from middle school athletes through college and beyond
  • Old injuries that keep flaring up when you try to get active again

If you are not sure whether your situation is something I treat, call me. That is exactly what the free meet and greet is for.

What a Visit Looks Like

Your first visit is an evaluation. We start by talking. I want to know what hurts, when it started, what makes it better or worse, and what you want to get back to doing. Then I examine how you move, where you are limited, where you are strong, where you are weak, and what is driving the problem.

Treatment starts the same day. Depending on what I find, that might include hands-on work, dry needling, guided movement, and a short set of exercises you can actually do at home. You leave the first visit with a clear picture of what is going on and a plan for what comes next.

Follow-up visits are also sixty minutes. We check progress, adjust the plan, and keep moving forward. Some people need a few visits. Some need more. I will tell you what I think honestly, and we decide together what that plan looks like.

Why a Full Hour Matters

A lot can happen in an hour when it is all yours. There is time to listen properly, time to examine carefully, and time to treat and teach without cutting anything short. That is how you get to the real cause of a problem instead of chasing symptoms.

It also means less homework for you to figure out alone. When I show you an exercise, I watch you do it, correct it, and make sure it feels right before I leave. You are not handed a generic printout and sent on your way.

Who This Is For

Active adults who want to keep doing the things they love and would rather solve a problem well than patch it quickly. Athletes who want a fast, thorough evaluation without waiting weeks for an appointment. Parents who cannot easily fit clinic hours around work and kids. And older adults who want to stay strong, steady, and independent, and who would much rather be treated at home.

It is also for anyone who simply does not love clinics or gyms. Some people do their best healing in their own space. I understand that, and I built my practice around it.

You Know the Price Before We Start

  • Initial evaluation: $210 for a full sixty minutes
  • Follow-up visits: $160 for a full sixty minutes

That is the whole price list. Payment is due at the time of the visit, by cash, check, or Venmo. HSA and FSA cards are welcome. I do not bill insurance directly, and I am happy to give you a superbill after each visit if you want to submit a claim to your plan for possible out-of-network reimbursement. I need to know this up front.

Visits outside the Manhattan area may carry a small travel fee based on mileage. I will tell you before we book, never after.

No Referral Needed

Kansas is a direct access state, meaning you do not need a referral from a physician to see a physical therapist. You can call me directly, and we can start this week. If your evaluation shows something that needs a physician’s attention, I will say so, and I will loop in your primary care doctor so everyone is on the same page. I work closely with local physicians and value those relationships.

Where I Go

I am based in Manhattan and see clients in Wamego, St. George, and Riley. I also travel to Junction City. If you are nearby but not on that list, ask. The answer is usually yes.

How to Start

The simplest way is to request an evaluation and I will get back to you within one business day to set a time. If you would rather talk first, book a free fifteen minute meet and greet by phone or video. No obligation, no charge, just a conversation about whether this is the right fit.

Ready When You Are

Book a free 15 minute meet and greet by phone or video to talk it through, or request your first evaluation now. Either way, I come to you.
